The Mask

We all have a side that we do not show to others. Mine is hidden so deep, it can be absent from even myself. 

A mask we place upon our face when in public. 

This character that comes out to play in the darkness. 

This being who escapes the cruelty of society. 

This triumphant human.

I am one person. In my mind, there are many that speak. The child wanting to play. The adult wanting reason. The teacher wanting education. The artist wanting freedom.

They are all there, wearing their masks.

This mask was created many years ago (2006). In fact, this was an assignment within an Adobe Illustrator course I once taught at the college.  Miss that class. Think I'll request to have it again.

You can find it used now as the symbol for The Happy Hat.
