Who Wrote the New Testament?

So, I just came back from a Mini Lecture on the topic of the title. Very interesting. The lecturer has several hats, some I'll mention here. Please know, these are just a small few of is talents. Dr. Davis is the Program Director of Administrative Justice and Law at the College. He also researches, and lectures on metaphysics, and brain abnormalities. He is also associated with being an Episcopalian. 

Now the latter I mention because this is my only form of a religious institution; the Episcopal Church. This author is Baptized and Confirmed through this religion. 

Now, this lecture presented FACTS about the writings. It was information which had me spellbound. Enough so that I want to research more. In fact, as I type, I have another window open researching books on the topic. 

I mean really, if you think about it, the apostles were mostly fisherman. They were simple, hard - working, men. This was common in the days of Christ. These men were not educated men. How did they learn to write? How did the gospels go Arabic to Greek? What was lost in the translation? Why were the teachings of Thomas thrown out?

Huge things to think about. Would love to hear your thoughts...
